Timeline of Program Events
August 2 Deadline for application.
August 9 Selected teams will be notified.
Sept. 27-28 A representative of each science center attends the orientation conference in Washington, DC. The agenda is available for preview.
Sept. 27-28 Each team receives mini-grant funds in the amount of $4,000.00 (four thousand dollars) per team. These funds should be used to support program activities.
Nov. 20 Checkpoint for creation of the project webspace. TFI staff determine that the baseline Project Identification criteria have been met.
Mar. 20, 2003 All teams celebrate International Public Science Day 2003.

Deadline for completion of project webspace. The project webspace must include scrapbook evidence that a local showcase event took place in the community to promote awareness of your science investigation. The showcase event does not have to be held on March 20, although it certainly may be.
Apr. 8 Judging panel meets to evaluate the project webspace content for awarding of "The Unisys Prize for Online Science Education." The judging panel will use a scoring instrument that corresponds to the published web criteria.
Apr. 10 The 2003 winner of "The Unisys Prize for Online Science Education" is announced. The winning science center receives a cash prize in the amount of $10,000. Runners-Up and/or Honorable Mentions may also be selected.
Apr. 10 Final report submission due to AAAS.
