Lily Pad Pond was Frederick’s natural habitat, although he had many relatives who inhabited lakes and rivers. Lily Pad Pond was situated in the center of park and was protected by a forest of evergreens, birch and maple trees. Children loved to explore the paths of the forest for a glimpse of Frederick! This was Frederick’s sanctuary.
