Star Scout Camp, the Solar System
Publicity Brochure for July, 2428 Sessions

Star Scout Camp - the place for your scout! In the ancient tradition of Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, your son or daughter, age 8-10, can experience the fun of Star Scout Camp, a fun filled week of fantastic solar activities. These activities are arranged to meet the requirements of solar and planetary merit badges with an emphasis on planetary acclimation.

Our camp has a lot of sites throughout the solar system. Transportation to and from Earth is provided from the Gas Giant Groceries parking lot nearest you. The trip will take only a few hours unless your scout is traveling to the last group of planets. That trip takes at least half a day at warp speed.

Parents are required to provide each of their campers with standard space suits and one backup. These suits must be washable, not disposable, in order to keep space litter down. Older 22nd century models are not permitted. Additional specialized equipment may be needed depending on which site your child attends.

  • Inner Planet Desert Adventure program. This program will give your Star Scout a look at conditions closer to the sun. Heat deflector playwear is a must in these regions as well as solar reflector sunglasses.

  • The Outward Bound Outer Planet program has several categories of space fun. All require at least two sets of thermal outer playwear. The planets farthest away are for second year campers only and require additional thermal nighttime clothes as well as nuclear powered camping stoves. These scouts will be roughing it a little more as they work on their Spacey Owl badge.

  • Gas Giant Gables, "Swim the Slurry" program requires special super slush repellant flotation devices be attached to all shoes. Devices are also required on the arms. It is recommended that each camper bring an extra set. By the end of the week, all campers will be certified at various levels for Gas Giant swim programs.

After a week of fun filled activities your campers will be returned to the same Gas Giant Groceries parking lot at approximately 6:00 pm. Only one phone will be available on each planet, so calling time will be limited. All campers must have physicals with shot records up to date. A list of all current interplanetary viruses are listed on the attached sheet. Please give them to your doctor during the physical.

Campers in the outer planetary region will need to have extra money for lunch at the McSaturn Express.
