The Indians of the Sioux tribe lived on the Oregon Trail, on the west side of North America. The Sioux lived on the plains of Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, and the Dakotas.
The Sioux Indians did a lot of things we do not do now a days. Like painting themselves and their horses before going into war. The Sioux Indians ate buffalo, buffalo jerky, and wild berries. Chief Crazy Horse went into three different wars before going onto a reservation! The three wars were The Little Big Horn, Crazy Horse verses General Crook, and Crazy Horse verses General Custer. The Sioux Indians did a massacre at Wounded Knee. The Sioux Indians also did a dance called The Sun Dance that was supposed to bring super natural power.
The Ogloa Indians where the most
fierce of all the Sioux Indians. The Ogloa were also the most numerous.
The Ogloa Indians lived in tipis. The Ogloa Indians made their clothing
out of antelope skin, buffalo fur and skin, and dear and elk skin.
The Ogloa men’s jobs where to hunt, and fight. The women’s jobs were to
sew, cook, and Cary the belongings when moving.
Crazy Horse and about 70,000 of
his warriors were forced to live on a reservation. Crazy Horse’s real name
was Curly. He received his father’s name after he became a brave. Curly
was born in 1841.
