Nez Perce ate roots, bulbs, bitterroot, blue huckleberry, wild carrots, and they adapted to buffalo during trading.  They mainly ate fish.

The women had to cook and gather food.  Men had jobs, hunting, building, and fishing.  Now they work in saw mills or logging trucks and some have good office jobs.

Interesting Facts
Most Nez Perce had 10-15 horses.  They were the first Americans!  In 1900 Idaho was an Indian reservation.  The Nez Perce used ice caves for storage, too!  The were divided into Lower and Upper Perce.  They went into the mountains to pray.  The U.S. turned against them.
