George Washington Elementary School

In keeping with our school-wide theme of "Playgrounds," we decided to have a variety of science activities during our annual Carnival Day.

Students and parents were invited to build with K'NEX, challenge themselves to identify patterns in ob-Scertainers, and examine Science Fair Projects concerning our theme (which upper grade students completed after Public Science Day in February).

Families were encouraged to consider the opportunities for science learning that are available through everyday activities and to also identify resources that can be used for science activities during the summer. Brochures were given out for the Free Library of Science in the Summer program.

Given the success of this day, we hope to plan further family-centered science activities for the coming school year.
